Wootage! Collected my newest toy last Saturday, the Yamaha PSR-E403 piano keyboard from Mirado at 1 Utama. Got it at RM1,100… RM100 cheaper than any Yamaha music stores. Despite having formal piano education till Grade 5, it’s more than 10 years since I last played…. my fingers are rather stiff. :P So gotta take lots of practice to undust my skills.

My Yamaha PSR-E403

I have read articles about Playing by Ear, a technique to play by familiarizing with the music tunes instead of reading music sheets (sight playing). There were claims that this technique enables one to learn to play 12x faster than traditional music training. I think I’m gonna give this a try since they have a learning center near where I live. :) Hope it’ll work for me.

Thanks for your friendship, it did made a difference in our quiet and boring office environment. :P It’s a pity, I didn’t really get a chance to work with you. Anyway, hope we’ll still keep in touch. If you ever need help, don’t hesitate to call “Pak Choy Tan” ;) Can always find us for lunch too, y’know. Wish you all the best in finding your new place and of course hope you’ll be happy always!

I’m filled with Joy! The Rakyat has finally denied BN 2/3 majority… and to add salt to BN’s wound, the opposition coalition liberated Penang, Perak, Kedah and Selangor while defended Kelantan with an even stronger majority. This was way above my expectations. I was only hoping Tony Pua will defeat the incumbent Chew Mei Fun and Penang to be seized. The 12th Malaysian Elections proves that the Rakyat is a force to be reckon with. We no longer fall to BN empty promises and threats. Now with this windfall victory, the oppositions must work hard to prove that they can really be an alternative. They must not forget that with Great Powers comes Great Responsibilities.

Since we now have a strong oppositions, this are the things I hope to see:

Ong Ka Ting should not be shocked when MCA lost almost all their seats. It is a well known fact that his party do not dare defend Chinese rights anymore. The Rakyat do not buy into your racial intimidations. Perhaps he should reform MCA into a multiracial party, Malaysian Citizen Association and join the opposition since race base politics will soon be outdated. MIC and Gerakan should merge with DAP to create a truly Malaysian party too! :P

Thanks to all that came out to vote yesterday. I feel so proud to be Malaysian! Hidup Rakyat!

The vote is casted

Got up early this morning to check out any breaking news from the Malaysian blogosphere before I head off to my polling station with my mum, dad and sis. I’m glad my polling station is my former secondary school, the infamous SMK Kelana Jaya, is just a 5 minutes walk away from my house. We took off at about 8.30 in the morning and met an old neighbor on the way. Good to know that he is practicing his right to vote even though he has already shifted out from my housing area. At the entrance of my school, there was a BN booth (last minute vote fishing?). The BN fellas there asked if we needed any help… we just gave them a cold shoulder and replied, “No thanks, we know what to do” :P

As this is the first time I’m voting, I was quite worried I will spoil my vote. But the voting process is fairly simple. Just get your stream no. from SPR officers. Queue up at your the room designated for your “stream”. At your turn, show your IC to the SPR officer, he’ll read out some serial no. followed by your IC and name. Collect your voting ballots, one for Parliamentary and one for State. Walk to the booth and mark an “X” on the party your wanna vote. Fold the ballot in two and drop into the correct ballot box(the boxes are colored according to the ballot). Tada!

I feel great after casting my vote. Now all I can do is pray hard that Tony Pua will triumph this round. I’ll like to take this opportunity end this post with a hilarious video clip on the 12th Malaysian General Elections by ComedyCourt. Enjoy and happy voting!

Vote for Malaysia! Vote the Opposition!
